Pro-Life Groups Ask President Bush to Veto Embryonic Stem Cell Research Bill

"With the Senate approving a measure to use federal taxpayer dollars to pay for embryonic stem cell research, pro-life groups are urging President Bush to veto it.

“Taxpayers deserve to have their money fund a proven medical practice that has boasted real results, rather than subsidizing immoral embryonic stem-cell research that, to this day, has not yielded results,' Lanier Swann, of Concerned Women for America, said." To read more visit:

TeenSTAR Sex Eudcation Curriculum

New, affordable teen sex education
We know what doesn't work -- "preaching" abstinence, "promoting" condoms.

Superintendents, School Board Members, Teachers, Administrators, Principals:
Has your curriculum shown that it can postpone sexual involvement? TeenSTAR has... Over 90% of female and male virgins remained uninvolved while 30-65% of previously involved students stopped during the year-long Teen Star program.

TeenSTAR (Sexuality Teaching in the context of Adult Responsibility) is a developmental curriculum which uses learning one's fertility pattern to teach responsible decision-making and communication skills in the area of sexual behavior and enhances teens' self-understanding and self-esteem. Can be offered once a week in health, physical education, family life, biology or sociology class for two semesters. Best results for primary prevention if offered in grades 7-9. A one-week training workshop required.

Why not try a program that has demonstrated its ability to postpone sexual involvement?

Former Abortion Clinic Donated to Expand Crisis Pregnancy Centre

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri, July 12, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A building that recently housed an abortion clinic has been donated to a local crisis pregnancy center, which offers women help in finding alternatives to abortion.

The former abortion clinic, known as the Springfield Health Care Center, shut down unexpectedly last October after launching a lawsuit against a new state law that required clinic abortionists to obtain hospital privileges within 30 miles of their clinic. Violations of the law could result in prison terms of up to 15 years."

It is the first time a complex human organ like the bladder has been mostly replaced with tissue grown from a patient's own cells. "

Concerned Women for America - Infanticide and Abortion: Fruits of the Same Tree

"The newborn girl was carefully wrapped in two plastic bags and tossed over a fence into a ravine in Alhambra, California. She did not survive the 53-feet fall.

This horrifying case of infanticide, uncovered in March, produced a wave of alarm and emotion from Alhambra natives, who named the baby Therese Rose and lovingly organized a funeral service for her. It’s hard to imagine anyone not moved by the baby’s heartless murder and, in contrast, the tender response of the people of Alhambra.

However, too often outrage over an infant’s senseless homicide stops short when she is still in the womb. The little girl who died in the ravine was a few hours old. Did those few hours really make her a person?" To read more of this article by Cara Cook click the following link.

Philadelphia Inquirer | 05/18/2006 | Santorum and Casey come out slugging: "Casey also would not agree to participate in 10 debates, as Santorum suggested Tuesday in an election night speech. Casey said he would debate, but declined to specify a number.

Philadelphia Inquirer | 05/18/2006 | Voters start a seismic shift in Pa.

Philadelphia Inquirer | 05/18/2006 | Voters start a seismic shift in Pa.: "In a typical election year, two incumbents lose in the primary. The turnover in this primary is the largest in at least 32 years. And, with 30 retirements, there could be more than 50 new lawmakers in the General Assembly at the start of the new term in January."

The articles I posted yesterday and today should give readers an idea of the unprecedented opportunity this election brings. It can be a blessing or a curse for the pro-life movement. It all depends on the steps pro-life citizens take to elect candidates who share their values.

If only I could vote for Thomas Jefferson! - Thomas Jefferson: First Inaugural Address. U.S. Inaugural Addresses.

Primary Election Day 2006 - Let us hope there are candidates who define good government the way Jefferson did!

Thomas Jefferson, in his First Inagural Address comments on our country, our Creator, and good government.

Thomas Jefferson: First Inaugural Address. U.S. Inaugural Addresses. : " Let us, then, with courage and confidence pursue our own Federal and Republican principles, our attachment to union and representative government. Kindly separated by nature and a wide ocean from the exterminating havoc of one quarter of the globe; too high-minded to endure the degradations of the others; possessing a chosen country, with room enough for our descendants to the thousandth and thousandth generation; entertaining a due sense of our equal right to the use of our own faculties, to the acquisitions of our own industry, to honor and confidence from our fellow-citizens, resulting not from birth, but from our actions and their sense of them;

enlightened by a benign religion, professed, indeed, and practiced in various forms, yet all of them inculcating honesty, truth, temperance, gratitude, and the love of man; acknowledging and adoring an overruling Providence, which by all its dispensations proves that it delights in the happiness of man here and his greater happiness hereafter—

with all these blessings, what more is necessary to make us a happy and a prosperous people? Still one thing more, fellow-citizens—a wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Read "Vacant Souls" By Father Frank Pavone

Father Frank Pavone's columnVacant Souls, describes the strange and callous behavior of some abortionists. According to one abortion center employee, "the abortionist “had a fetus wrapped inside of blue paper….He was standing in the hall…tossing the fetus up in the air and catching it. Like it was a rubber ball.”" Pray to end abortion.
