Little Sisters of the Poor and Holy Cross High School
to Sponsor Local “March for Life” and Prayer Service
on 43rd Anniversary of the Legalization of Abortion
The Little Sisters of the Poor and Holy Cross High School will sponsor a local “March for Life” and prayer service on Friday, Jan. 22 – the 43rd anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s decision to legalize abortion.
The event, which is being held in support of the national “March for Life” in Washington, D.C. that same day, will begin at 2:30 p.m. when Holy Cross High School students, faculty, and staff will march 1.7 miles from the school, 501 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, to Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton.
Upon their arrival at the residence, the marchers will be greeted by the Little Sisters and the elderly residents entrusted to their care where they will complete the march together. Following the march, the group will gather for a prayer service in the residence’s chapel to pray for the protection of life and the more than 57 million lives lost to abortion since its legalization in 1973. Refreshments will be served after the service.
