While Ed Rendell pretends he had no knowledge that abortion clinics weren't being inspected, we can be thankful that one legslator has the health and saety of women and newborns in mind. From the Altoona Mirror: "My legislation would require the Pennsylvania Department of Health to perform annual inspections for each abortion facility," state Sen. Jake Corman, R-Centre, said. "In addition, minimum health and safety standards would be implemented for all abortion clinics, the same safety standards which other health care facilities must meet in the state. We must require the same safety measures that are required in all health care facilities in Pennsylvania, to be met by these clinics."
