Pennsylvania Primary Election May 18th - Pennsylvania's Primary election will be held Tuesday, May 18th. The Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation
PAC recently questioned candidates on right to life issues. Additional information from the National Right to Life Committee is included regarding U.S. Congressmen Carney.and Kanjorski.
No Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate responded to the questionnaire but Republicans Pat Toomey and Peg Luksik responded pro-life.
In the U.S. Congress 10th District Chris Carney (D) is considered pro-abortion by National Right to Life for casting a vote for health care legislation that has seven pro-abortion provisions including direct funding of abortion (section 10503) ($11 billion) through the Community Health Centers program. Carney did not respond to the Federation's PAC questionnaire.
Of the Republicans running for the 10th Congressional District seat, David Madiera responded pro-life to the questionnaire. Madiera, Tom Marino and Malcom Derk responded pro-life to an interview with the Pro-Life Reporter.
In the U.S. Congress 11th District Paul Kanjorski (D) is considered pro-abortion by National Right to Life for casting a vote for health care legislation that has seven pro-abortion provisions including direct funding of abortion (section 10503) ($11 billion) through the Community Health Centers program. Kanjorski did not respond to the Federation's PAC questionnaire and neither did his opponents Corey O'Brien and Brian Kelly.
Republican Lou Barletta responded pro-life.
In the race for PA Governor, Democrat Jack Wagner and Republicans Tom Corbett and Samuel Rohrer are pro-life.
In the Lieutenant Governor's race Democrat H. Scott Conklin is pro-life. Republicans Steve Johnson, Jean Craige Pepper, Chet Beiler, Jim Cawley, John Kennedy, Stephen Urban and Daryl Metcalfe are pro-life.
Candidates running for Senator in the PA General Assembly in the 22nd District include Joseph Corcoran (D) , Jim Wansacz (D) and Frank Scavo ( R) who responded pro-life.
The candidate running for Representatives in the General Assembly in District 112 who responded pro-life is Democrat John Keeler. In District 113 Republican Mike Lapolla responded pro-life. Candidates in the 114th District who responded pro-life to the questionnaire are Republicans Lee Jamison and Daniel Naylor. In District 115 incumbent Edward Staback (D) is pro-life.
