Couple answers God's call. - Pro-Life Faith in the Marketplace - Catholic Online
This story is fascinating and an indication of the very ordinary way God coommunicates with people who have faith. The couple own a pro-life telecommunications company. The husband felt called to relocate, the couple prayed about it and relocated, answering God's call without fully knowing the purpose. Here is a portion of the story:
"Joe and Jane have a living faith which expresses itself in some unique ways in their strong marriage. For example, in early 2005 Joe, a life long resident of St. Louis, announced to Jane that he felt called to “move to the country”. They prayed and she agreed. With faith and confidence in God, they put their home on the market and began their search for a new home in rural Missouri. In May of 2005, they moved their family and business to Rolla, MO. Joe sent an e-mail to the organizations they donate their profits to, alerting them of Pro Life Communications corporate office’s new location. That same day he received correspondence from two pro-life leaders that they had been praying for God to provide a pro-life anchor to Rolla and that they believed Joe was that anchor." David Limbaugh on Bogus Health Care Statistics
We've all heard Obama and the Democrats lament the "fact" that 47 million people are without health care. They don't tell you these people could afford health care if they wanted it and hope Americans will assume these 47 million are too poor to afford health care. David Limbaugh's column cites some startling sttistics: "In the first place, the 47 million number is grossly inflated. The Congressional Budget Office survey generating it included those who were uninsured for any part of a year, despite the fact that almost half of these remain uninsured for an average of only four months.
Some 38 percent of this 47 million -- almost 18 million -- make more than $50,000 a year, and 10 million of them make more than $75,000. Scranton Bishops Letter to Senator Casey Over Health Care Bill
The Bishops of Scranton have sent a letter to Senator Casey urging Casey to oppose Kennedy bill,"We urge you to oppose this bill and any legislation that permits the destruction of innocent human life". To quote the Bishop's letter, "The bill approved on July 15 by the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee sponsored by Senator Ted Kennedy is a matter of deep concern to us. Hoover devastated America’s exporters by signing the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act, triggering a devastating trade war. President Obama triggered retaliatory tariffs from Mexico when he appeased his Teamster supporters by blocking Mexican trucks from entering the United States, unilaterally repudiating NAFTA. He also elicited retaliatory tariffs from Canada (other countries will follow) by inserting a “buy American” clause in his “stimulus” bill. As in the 1930s, international trade is collapsing today. Sue Cirba: Elections have consequences. What baffles me is the way Democrats and sometimes Republicans keep buying the same snake oil from the Democrat Party. Democrat politicians have been immersed in the pro-abortion movement at least since the Clinton administration. They have also been believers in faulty economic policies as Dr. Hendrickson points out. Why anyone who lived through the economic disaster which was the Carter administration would ever vote for a Democrat is beyond my comprehension! I vividly recall as newlyweds, my husband and I frantically rushing to buy a home before the interest rates got so high we would not be able to afford one. Increased taxation only serves to keep the poor in poverty. One has to wonder how many more women will feel pressured to abort their children over dire economic circumstances.

Hudson Taylor Christian Missionary to China | Christian History
God planted the seeds of faith and the solutions to the problems of Communist China more than 150 years ago. Christians must pray for the conversion of China (as well as a return to faith for so many American Christians who have abandoned their faith.)

President Ronald Reagan,in 1986, signed the Emergency Medical Labor and Treatment Act (EMTALA) which made patient "redirection" or "dumping" illegalMany high profile hospitals do not want to treat the poor. One such hospital was the University of Chicago Medical Center whose "Vice President for Community and External Affairs" wasnone other than Michelle Obama. NRLC.org has an excellent article on the disaster that is "universal free health care" in the United Kingdom. Sadly, personal tragedies such as this one are not rare. "Former British diplomat Christopher Denne had prostate cancer symptoms and went to his NHS entry-level doctor. It then took six weeks to see an urologist who did not obtain a biopsy for 10 more months. The biopsy was positive for prostate cancer, but Denne had to wait another three months for another test to determine if the cancer had spread.
