"Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Today marked the end of federal funding of abstinence education under the Title V Abstinence Education Program and the CBAE (Community Based Abstinence Education). Before he took over the White House, President Barack Obama made it clear he would cut abstinence funding.
In Obama's FY 2010 Proposed Budget, the president called for eliminating the funding for abstinence education, which has been successful in helping teenagers make positive decisions." Visit:

Michelle Malkin : The Obamacare Horror Story You Won't Hear - Townhall.com
"The White House, Democrats and MoveOn liberals are spreading health care sob stories to sell a government takeover. But there's one health care policy nightmare you won't hear the Obamas hyping. It's a tale of poor minority patient-dumping in Chicago -- with first lady Michelle Obama's fingerprints all over it." Michelle Obama worked for University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago which spent only 1.3% of its budget on medical care for the poor, much less than the average. After many complaints of patient dumping an investigation is underway. Visit:

High Court reverses Sotomayor in firefighter case - On Deadline - USATODAY.com
"The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of white Connecticut firefighters in a 5-4 ruling that reverses an appeals court finding by Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, the Associated Press reports.
The high court found that the firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision that Sotomayor endorsed as an appeals court judge.

"In a letter to Senate Democrat leaders, President Obama has called for forcing all Americans to have health insurance, employers to offer insurance plans or pay a fine, and to create a government alternative insurance plan.
Any or all of these will lead to a government takeover of the health care industry. And that will result in rationed care, in which cost-conscious bureaucrats will decide who is worth treating. Should your grandmother get a hip replacement? Go down the hall to the queue outside Office 37-B and fill out more forms. We'll let you know in a few months. Hey, you with the brain tumor. Get back in line." Visit:Call It What It Is: Rationed Health Care | Commonwealth Foundation:

No, Really, It's Not Government-Run! | Commonwealth Foundation
No, Really, It's Not Government-Run! | Commonwealth Foundation: "Faced with rising opposition to a so-called 'public option' in health care reform, some Democrats are floating the idea of establishing health insurance 'co-operatives' as an alternative. Republicans like Sens. Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Charles Grassley (Iowa), who are desperately devoted to the idea of bipartisan compromise, have pronounced themselves 'intrigued' by the idea.
A closer look suggests that the only thing intriguing about the co-op alternative is whether it is a completely meaningless construct or simply camouflage for the 'Public Plan' option."

The New Atlantis » Embryos in Limbo
This is an excellent article that examines the reasons "parents" of frozen embryos procrastinate about the fate of their future children. It examines several studies and the attitudes of "parents". I do not necessarily agree with the leanings of the author, however, the article is worth your time.
"Noah Markham was born in January 2007 to worldwide media notice. Like his Biblical namesake, this Noah had been saved from a flood. He had been one in a barrel of frozen embryos transported in a flat-bottomed boat from a flooded east New Orleans hospital in the days after Hurricane Katrina by the Louisiana State Police and Illinois Conservation Police. Interviewed at the time of Noah’s birth, his mother, Rebekah Markham, said that she and her husband Glen were uncertain about whether they would use their remaining three frozen embryos to add to their family of Noah and his big brother Witt. Interviewed again on the occasion of Noah’s first birthday, she said, “How can I not? I’m happy with two, but how can you not when you know what the possibility is? We almost lost Noah. I don’t want to lose the others voluntarily.”" Visit:

"Wichita, KS – Undeterred by heavy rains throughout the day and threats of disruption by abortion supporters, pro-lifers gathered Saturday evening at the now-closed late-term abortion clinic once operated by George Tiller for a memorial and prayer service.
Under skies that had temporarily cleared, a group of about 35 people laid hundreds of flowers at the clinic in honor of the babies and the women injured and killed there. The group offered prayers for peace and healing for the Tiller family and the community.

"Wary of public reaction, Nazis tried to conceal what was happening behind the barbed wire of death camps; image-conscious abortion advocates lash out when photographs of disemboweled, dismembered near-term children are displayed. Nazis dehumanized their victims, denying them status as human beings and calling them parasites; abortion advocates refuse to recognize the personhood of the unborn and call them products of conception. Nazis used final solution when discussing the slaughter of Jews; abortion advocates are downright effusive, using reproductive freedom, family planning, women's health care and choice when discussing the slaughter of children." "Hate Crimes" Legislation Hearing
Concerned Women for America reports:
"Hate Crimes" legislation represents an overreach of the federal government into state authority. It would create second-class citizens and violate the 14th Amendment guarantee of equal protection for all citizens under the law.
On Thursday, June 25, the Judiciary Committee will hold a full committee hearing on the "hate crimes" legislation. Please call your Senators on the Judiciary Committee at 202-224-3121 and tell them to oppose "hate crimes" legislation because it is an unneeded power grab by the federal government and it subverts our national foundation of equal justice for all by granting special treatment to a class of citizens based on a perception of an individual's sexual preference.
It is also possible that "hate crimes" could be attached as an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill like it was last Congress which would likely be voted on next week. It is important that you call your Senators at 202-224-3121 and ask them to oppose dangerous "hate crimes" legislation.

ABC International Reports: "Iranian TV: 'Terrorists' Die; Ex-President's Daughter Arrested" - ABC News
"There are reports of fresh protest marches in Tehran Sunday, a day after violent unrest that left at least 13 people dead in clashes between Iran election demonstrators and the state security forces sent to shut them down."
Sue Cirba: People have been arrested when they went to the hospitals for treatment. Nothing said about whether they received treatment for their injuries. Notice the outrageous Headline ABC International uses. Why are they siding with Iranian TV in calling these freedom fighters "terrorists"? NOTICE ALSO THAT ALL THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO FIGHT WITH ARE ROCKS. This is the way dictators like their subjects - unarmed.
ABC does have a good video found at the link which follows. Please leave a comment and complain about their headline. "I have been warning this was coming, that the assurances from “the scientists” that eggs would not be commodified for cloning were false. New York State is going to permit would-be human cloners up to $10,000 to conduct human cloning as part of its $600 million taxpayer funded stem cell research project. (Isn’t New York broke? That $ would fill a lot of pot holes.) From the story:

"In the months before their daughter was born in 2007, Deborah and Ariel Levy worried the baby might have Down syndrome. They say a doctor at the Legacy Center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine assured them that a sample of tissue taken from the placenta early in the pregnancy ruled out the developmental disability, despite the results of later testing that showed the fetus might have it. But within days of the birth of their daughter, the Southwest Portland couple learned the baby did have Down syndrome. Had they known, they say, they would have terminated the pregnancy." Visit:

Penguins fans pack Downtown for parade - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
My husband and I and our daughters spent the weekend in Pittsburgh re-living the type of vacations we took when our children were small. We visited my brother, went to Kennywood Park, and other Pittsburgh attractions, then Lakemont Park in Altoona on the drive home. As we were leaving Kennywood Park on Friday, a loud cheer went up among park visitors who had been listening to the hockey game. It was no mere hockey game, but the quest fot the Stanely Cup! Fans throughout Pittsburgh were wearing their hockey, football or baseball jerseys. I would have loved to stay in Pittsburgh for todays 'City of Champions' parade but could not. I have posted the video from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for hockey fans to enjoy. Visit:

"The Fraser Institute, a Vancouver, B.C.-based think tank, has done yeoman's work keeping track of Canada's socialized health-care system. It has just come out with its 13th annual waiting-list survey. It shows that the average time a patient waited between referral from a general practitioner to treatment rose from 16.5 weeks in 2001-02 to 17.7 weeks in 2003. Saskatchewan had the longest average waiting time of nearly 30 weeks, while Ontario had the shortest, 14 weeks."

Operation Rescue Reports Philadelphia Abortion Mill Gives Free Abortions
"Philadelphia, PA – Operation Rescue is appalled to learn that Philadelphia Women’s Center gave away free abortions on Tuesday as a means of “honoring” slain late-term abortions George Tiller.
“There seems to be no comprehension of the value of human life with these people. Killing babies for free to honor someone who was murdered can only be described as sick,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
The abortion clinic told the media that an unspecified number of abortions were done free of charge, but there are no further plans to offer additional free abortions.
“There is no such thing as a ‘free abortion,’” said Newman. “It costs the life of an innocent baby and puts the women at risk for increased problems in their lives. The loss of each innocent life diminishes us all.”" Visit:

Call Your Representatives Now About "Global Women's Issues" Bill That Would Seek to Legalize Abortion in Foreign Nations
Legislative Alert from National Right to Life and PA Pro-Life Federation:
Please Call Your U.S. Congressman's Office Right Away
To Urge a "NO" Vote on H.R. 2410, "Global Women's Issues" Bill
On Wednesday, June 10, or Thursday, June 11, the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to take up H.R. 2410, a bill that would create a new "Office for Global Women's Issues" in the State Department. In congressional testimony on April 22, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a strong pro-abortion advocate, left no doubt that this new sub-agency would be involved in seeking to legalize abortion on demand in foreign countries.
Please take a few minutes to urge your representative to oppose this bill. It easy -- just go to the NRLC website's Legislative Action Center, at National Right to Life Legislative Action Center Then, enter your zip code into the "Call Now" box. You will then be shown the name and phone number of your representative in the U.S. House, along with suggestions on what you should say when you call the representative's staff in Washington to oppose the bill.
There is also an easy-to-use form that allows you to send NRLC a quick e-mail report on how your conversation went.
For more information on H.R. 2410, read the letter sent by NRLC to members of the U.S. House of Representatives at www.nrlc.org/ObamaAbortionAgenda/StateDepartmentHouseFloor

What I Saw at the Rotunda (at the dedication of Ronald Reagan's statue) Dr. Paul Kengor
From a commencement speech by Ronald Reagan in 1952: "[The idea of America] is nothing but the inherent love of freedom in each one of us, and the great ideological struggle that we find ourselves engaged in today is not a new struggle. It’s the same old battle. We met it under the name of Hitlerism; we met it under the name of Kaiserism; and we have met it back through the ages in the name of every conqueror that has ever set upon a course of establishing his rule over mankind. It is simply the idea, the basis of this country and of our religion, the idea of the dignity of man, the idea that deep within the heart of each one of us is something so God-like and precious that no individual or group has a right to impose his or its will upon the people." This article from May is still current. It shows more people identify themselves as conservatives than as Republicans. Why then are Republicans in Congress afraid to stand firm against Obama? Every appointment should have been fought as should the Sotomayor nomination.
David Limbaugh wrote: "It's true that a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll shows that only 21 percent of Americans now identify themselves as Republicans, compared with 35 percent as Democrats and 38 percent as independents. The bipartisan Battleground Poll, as recently as Aug. 20, 2008, revealed that 60 percent of Americans identify themselves as conservative and only 36 percent as liberal.
So it's the Republican Party that's in trouble, not conservatism. The GOP's shrinkage can't be because it's too conservative. George W. Bush, our most recent Republican president, was hardly an extreme conservative. Visit:"David Limbaugh:

Pravda.Ru writes about the demise of capitalism claiming the lessons learned in the take over of Russia were used in the U.S: "Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their 'right' to choke down a McDonalds burger or a Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Canadian leader stumps for Obamacare - The Back Story - Washington Times
"Many conservative groups have pointed to Canada’s universal health care system as a reason to keep the American health care system in the private sector. Americans for Prosperity Foundation's campaign, for example, launched an ad campaign last week featuring a Canadian woman named Shona Holmes who was diagnosed with brain tumor and says in the ad the only way she survived was by seeking treatment in America.
