National abortion foes strategize to oust backers of reform - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

From Sue Cirba - Thursday through Saturday I was in Pittsburgh for the National Right to Life Convention. I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Mildred Jefferson, Bobby Schindler, Dr. Steven Zielinski, Dr. Angela LanFranchi and many other pro-life activists who gathered at the Hyatt at the airport. There were so many fascinating stories particularly by Dr. Zielinski, Dr. KLanFranchi and Jean Head RN. First however, I will post the Pittsburgh Tribune review reports of the NRLC convention: "Leaders of the National Right to Life Committee said they are targeting incumbents in Congress who voted for the health-care bill in an effort to elect a sympathetic majority by the 2012 elections. Committee leaders contend the law fails to provide sufficient safeguards against the use of public money for abortion and includes provisions that could result in the rationing of care." A HEALTH CARE HORROR STORY FROM CANADA at DickMorris.com

"There are howls of outrage coming from the liberal community in Alberta, Canada. It seems that some doctors, desperate to protect their patients from the overcrowded and failing socialized medical system in their country, have set up private clinics to treat them. To circumvent Canadian laws, which prohibit charging for medical care, they have set up private, membership clinics where, for $2,000 a year, patients can access well staffed and equipped clinics and avoid the long waits and compromised care of the public system." CNSNews.com - Abortion’s Secret Consequences

"In a 1999 article entitled “Prenatal and perinatal risk factors for autism,” the scientists used five variables. The study was conducted with 78 individuals who had been diagnosed with autism. Among the variables examined was the “termination” of a prior pregnancy (Page 447). The scientists concluded, among other things, that the risk of autism in a future pregnancy among those who had a previous abortion was 23.6 percent." In the signature case she led as dean of Harvard's law school — preventing military recruiters on her campus — she not only lost, but she lost big. Not one justice took her side. Issues « Jon Runyan for Congress - Health Care

Jon Runyan on Health CaRE: "Affordable, High Quality Healthcare
The big government takeover of healthcare being pushed through Congress is, quite simply, a disaster waiting to happen. While my opponent, John Adler, continues to hem and haw about where he stands on the issue, let me be clear where I stand – I am 100% opposed to it and would vote against it if I were in Congress today.
I favor a more incremental approach that includes allowing small businesses to pool together to buy health insurance at a lower cost, permitting people to buy health insurance across state lines and providing individuals greater freedom to choose a healthcare plan that best suits them and their family, instead of forcing them to accept a one-size-fits-all approach that just drives up costs.
